Luis Suarez looking forward to Liverpool partnership with Andy Carroll

Fernando Torres may have left for Chelsea during the January transfer window, although Liverpool FC acquired two strikers in return and supporters might finally get to see Luis Suarez lining up alongside Andy Carroll on Sunday.

Injury has deprived Carroll of making an appearance for the Reds so far, although reports suggest that the former Newcastle forward will be on the bench for Sunday’s clash with Manchester United and Suarez is hoping to play with his new team-mate soon.

“He hasn’t played a competitive game for two months but it is up to us as a group to ease him back in after all that time away,” Suárez said.

“My impressions so far are that he is very tall, good in the air and has great feet. You have to remember that defenders here are very tall; that’s why the duels between them are very good to watch but I still don’t know how they are going to cope with him.”

With Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic missing for United on Sunday, there must be a temptation for Kenny Dalglish to play his new-look strikeforce as Liverpool look to recover from last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at West Ham.
