Well X factor is moving rapidly towards its climax, and we now have just eight acts remaining. There have been a few surprises along the way as usual, but a favourite has emerged with Sam Bailey at a best price of 9/4 to take the crown in the reality show.
Bailey has surged ahead of Nicholas McDonald and Tamera Foster in the popularity poll, after Tamera was left to fight a sing-off with rivals kingsland Road at the weekend, and the prison warder is priced by Ladbrokes at no bigger than 9/4.
The judges were wowed with Bailey’s rendition of ‘No More Tears’, and she maintains a healthy cult following, with Ladbrokes continuing to hold her as favourite, since Foster featured in the bottom two of last week’s voting.
It’s likely we’ll see numerous fluctuating prices between now and the competition’s finale, and Foster seems excellent value with Coral offering 3/1. Her fans might start voting for her, especially since she has been in apparent danger of being voted out of the show.
A solid 7/2 says that Scottish singer Nicholas McDonald can go all the way, and he drew positive comments from all the judges following his great performance of the Michael Jackson number ‘Rock With You’.
This season’s X factor could in reality be won by any of five acts, including Teignmouth singer Luke Friend. ha managed to produce an excellent performance with a cover of ‘Play That Funky Music’ during disco week. Sharon Osborne remarked about him being the dark horse of the competition, while Gary Barlow called his performance ‘incredible’.
Not to be forgotten are Rough Copy, with their questionable fashion sense. They are priced at 9/1 to claim the ultimate prize and are still in with a good chance.
Those vulnerable this week include Abi Alton, Sam Callahan and Hannah Barrett, with two of those acts likely to be in a sing-off. Callahan looks the best bet at 2/1.
