It is not the news that Manchester City supporters will want to read after just a handful of games played this season, although it appears that their star player is getting a little disillusioned with the game of football. This is despite being paid over £100,000 a week at Eastlands and only being 26-years-old.

Carlos Tevez had a run in with Roberto Mancini last week and the striker now claims that he is feeling tired after his exertions during the World Cup for Argentina, something which might eventually compel him to hang up his boots and call it a day.

In the News of the World, Tevez states: “I have been playing many games this season, and my body is feeling it. I am tired.

“I started to play when I was really young and I have always fought so much but now I’m feeling the effort.

“I’m an old guy now, and I started to think about some stuff. For example, I am less tolerant as a person today than I was a few years ago.

“Then I think – what happens if I quit football as long as I am okay in my life?”

Most people wouldn’t regard being 26 as particularly old, with the late twenties generally considered to be a time when most football players hit their peak. Manchester City supporters will certainly not be happy to hear Tevez speaking like this.
