After a season less than ordinary which saw them out of this season’s Champions League race and finishing seventh in the Premier League, Reds were on the edge of losing their star striker Fernando Torres. The Spanish marvel was linked to Chelsea and cash laden Manchester City but he finally pledged his allegiance to Roy Hodgson.

Spaniard, who is recovering from an injury he picked up in the World Cup final this year, was delighted to be back at the Anfield training camp on Monday. Torres commenting on his love for the club said that he is loyal to the fans and thrilled to be back at his favorite club with his team-mates.

Given the current situation at Liverpool where Yossi Benayoun has already left for Chelsea and Javier Mascherano nearing an exit, Torres believes that Reds are in need of three to four new signings.

Following Fernando Torres’s statement regarding a visit from Rafael Benitez’s successor, Reds manager Roy Hodgson is bound to be praised by precious fans for convincing Torres to commit to Anfield.
