Samir Nasri refuses to commit his future to Arsenal
Arsenal supporters are wondering whether they will start the new season with Cesc Fabregas or Samir Nasri, with both players being the subject of much speculation this summer.
While Fabregas has revealed that he will not press for a move to Barcelona and that any decision regarding his future will be governed by Arsene Wenger, Nasri has remained deliberately vague when questioned about the possibility of him staying at the Emirates.
Speaking to the official Arsenal magazine, Nasri said: “As a player, it is hard to stay at the top of your game.
“I don’t want last season to be just a one-off. I want to continue playing at my best and be consistent at the level I was at the start of last season.
“This is the difference between a good player and a great player – and I know the expectations will be higher on me too.
“There is not much to say apart from don’t listen to all the rumours and everything that is written or said.”
Nasri is just about to turn 24 and last season was very much a breakthrough campaign for the Frenchman, who scored some wonderful goals and was shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year.
