There are just hours left for Chelsea to swoop for Fernando Torres and negotiations are taking place all the time so that the west London club can wrench the Spaniard away from Anfield.
It is clear that Torres wants to leave Liverpool FC and the Merseyside club do appear resigned to losing their striker, although they want a substantial amount of money in compensation and that figure is thought to be worth £40 million.
It is also rumoured that Chelsea have already offered £35 million plus Daniel Sturridge for the services of Torres, although it might be the case that Nicolas Anelka instead has to go in the opposite direction, something which would see the Frenchman join Liverpool for a second spell.
The transfer window deadline is Monday evening at 11pm and Chelsea will not give up on signing Fernando Torres as they seek to capture a player who could team up with Didier Drogba to devastating effect.
However, it continues to be the cause of much puzzlement as to why the English champions have moved so late for the Spaniard.
