Liverpool FC slammed by Blackpool manager for Charlie Adam approach
Ian Holloway has got his wish and Charlie Adam will remain a Blackpool FC player between now and the end of the season. After throwing a few verbal barbs in the direction of Aston Villa, he and chairman Karl Oyston then succeeded in staving off the approaches of Liverpool and Tottenham on transfer deadline day.
However, Holloway still had a few choice words for the Merseyside club, strangely accusing them of regarding Adam as a low priority signing compared to the acquisitions of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.
Holloway said: “He shouldn’t be third choice, they shouldn’t be doing two other deals, Suárez and Carroll, and putting their energy into that and doing nothing for Charlie.”
“I’m very proud of us. The chairman stood there resolute and said: ‘That’s not good enough.’ I think it’ll be proven in time that what Charlie will eventually go for will be a decent amount of money for this football club.”
Adam scored for the Tangerines against West Ham on Wednesday night, although the 3-1 home defeat means that Blackpool are now in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle.
