Kenny Dalglish almost certain to be made permanent Liverpool FC manager
It appears that King Kenny can do no wrong and the Scot became even more of a legend in the eyes of Liverpool supporters on Sunday when he engineered a 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge which saw Fernando Torres flop on his debut.
It would now be a major surprise if Dalglish wasn’t awarded the manager’s role on a permanent basis and John Henry has been waxing lyrical about the 59-year-old’s style of football that was used to excellent effect against Chelsea.
“The philosophy we were playing under didn’t seem to suit the club and we knew we had to make a change,” said Henry before Liverpool beat Chelsea yesterday.
“We knew we wanted to change the type of football we were playing, we wanted to move to a much more positive pass-and-move philosophy.
“We also knew we wanted to have a caretaker so to speak, we didn’t want to be forced into an immediate decision.
“I talked with Kenny about it and said we needed someone to come in for six months and stabilise the club on the field and the club in general.”
