Four games played and no goals for Fernando Torres since he signed for Chelsea, although the Spaniard is optimistic that he will soon find the net for the Blues.
Chelsea travel to Blackpool on Monday night and Torres claims he is starting to click into gear after completing a £50 million move from Anfield on the last day of the January transfer window.
“I know I’m here to score goals,” he told Chelsea TV.
“It’s the job of the striker, so hopefully I can score the first and I’m sure it will be the first of many.”
“I felt the other day against Man United very good, sharp.
“So, waiting for the first goal and excited about that possibility.
“Hopefully, I can score against Blackpool.”
Carlo Ancelotti has attempted to take some pressure off Torres by claiming that it’s not hugely important whether the striker scores or creates goals, although with Didier Drogba rumoured to be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer, the Spaniard will be expected to return twenty goals or more next season.
