Everton have bounded up the league with successive wins and will look to make it three in a row at home against Stoke on Sunday.
Tony Pulis’s side have struggled badly after European games and having had a tough match against Dynamo Kiev three days before this one the Toffees will scent victory. If you think they can do it then snap up the best odds of 4/5 (Ladbrokes – £50 free bets).
One thing in Stoke’s favour is that their game on Thursday was at home but even so, given their poor away record odds of 19/4 (Stan James – £150 free betting) for them to get the three points look a bit on the low side to tempt us in.
The Potters have earned just four points on the road thus far and having been beaten by three of the bottom eight it seems unlikely they will prosper against Everton. If they are to get anything from the game then Peter Crouch will have to lead their aerial attack and can be backed at 11/4 to score anytime.
However, David Moyes’s men are usually well organised from set pieces and whilst they have struggled in the past against Rory Delap’s throws, the odds for them to shut the away side out are worth considering. Stoke have failed to score in half of their away matches and whilst Everton are yet to keep a clean sheet at home, they did manage it last weekend away at Bolton. The odds seem generous at 11/8 (bet365), especially given the fact that Stoke could well be tired from the game in midweek.
Everton have had an unusual set of results this season, winning all five games played against the sides in the bottom seven and losing all five against sides in the top six. At the moment Stoke certainly seem closer to the former group and with confidence on the blue half of Merseyside sky high we can see a fairly comfortable home win.
