At long last, Chelsea have found the winning touch on the road again, with Monday night’s win at Bolton their first away from home since October.

They will make another trip to the north-west on Saturday feeling confident of beating an Everton team who continue to have a stuttering season and have certainly not been making Goodison Park a fortress this term.

“As we said before the Ipswich game, we are looking for a run and we’ve got now three victories in a row, three clean sheets in a row, we scored lots of goals,” Petr Cech told Chelsea TV.

“I think this is the run you need to forget about the bad moment, the bad period we experienced.

“This is the way to come back into the title race and this is the way to secure the Champions League place.”

This match constitutes a repeat of the 2009 FA Cup final, with Everton racing into a 1-0 lead before their opponents came back to win 2-1.

David Moyes’ team continue to flirt with relegation due to their inability to win more than five Premier League games this term and will continue to be without the influential Tim Cahill.

The manager has stated this week that the club need to splash the cash if they are to remain a top half team in the Premier League.

“There is a worry that we will stand still if we don’t spend money, but if you have none that’s the way it is and you just have to deal with it. We have said we are trying to look for investment and I am positive I will bring somebody in.”
