Chelsea manager backs Fernando Torres to score soon

Chelsea cruised to victory at Bloomfield Road on Monday night, with a brace from Frank Lampard sealing the three points after John Terry had nodded the Blues in front.

For the fifth game running, Fernando Torres failed to find the net for his new club, with the Spaniard yet to break his duck since completing a £50 million move from Liverpool.

However, Carlo Ancelotti isn’t too bothered by Torres’ lack of goals so far and claims that the goals will come for the forward over the next few weeks.

“He is showing good movement; he showed good movement with Drogba in the first half,” said Ancelotti. “I think they played well, it was a good combination at the start of the game.

“I didn’t ask them to play closer, I wanted them to spread the Blackpool defence. It is important he works for the team and he is doing that now and game by game he will improve and he will score. We are happy about his performance. He is a top scorer and he will score, this is not a problem.”
