Two out of form teams meet at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday night. Whisper it quietly, but Bolton Wanderers are not completely out of the woods when it comes to relegation from the Premier League and Saturday’s goalless draw at home to Wigan didn’t inspire confidence.

Their early season vibrancy has evaporated and Owen Coyle has looked to steady the ship by recruiting David Wheater from Middlesbrough in defence and Daniel Sturridge on loan from Chelsea in attack. The Johan Elmander – Kevin Davies goal axis has dried up and there is cause for concern.

Wolves are nearly at the stage where they have to alter their tactics in a bid to start collecting more maximum hauls. It was probably a blessing in disguise that they were beaten at home to Stoke in the FA Cup on Sunday, although it once again illustrated how shot-shy the team are at the moment.

Jamie O’Hara has arrived at Molineux on loan from Tottenham and the midfielder played an excellent cameo for Portsmouth last season despite the team’s relegation.

“The manager wants me to play in an attacking midfield role and to get in among the goals,” said O’Hara. “The manager was pushing me to come here the most and I was really keen to work with him as he’s been after me for a while.”

Along with Adam Hammill (who recently arrived from Barnsley), there could be a vibrancy about the Wolves midfield as they search for their second away win of the season.
