Transfering large audio files with FTP

A)  Introduction:

This document has been written to be a guideline for anyone who would like to transfer audio files over the internet using FTP.  The focus has been specifically directed to audio files, so that the audio engineering community (recording engineers, producers, musicians, recording and mastering studios) may supply a client with the needed FTP server information and this document, and the client may then perform the FTP transfer.

Audio Outreach “Soldering Basics” Seminar

Seminar: Soldering Basics-

Next in the Audio Outreach series we entered the world of soldering basics, covering tools, techniques, safety, and troubleshooting.

Targeted towards current audio students and home enthusiasts, this demonstration seminar was led by myself, John Flores and Jeremy Rosenblum of Studio SQ in San Francisco.

We brought a load of tools, supplies, cable, and other solutions (dental tool, anyone?) to demonstrate techniques, share ideas and experiences, and collaborate with the attending group.

Mike Wells Mastering contributes to ongoing Katrina Relief effort

Mastering donation to aid ongoing relief-

MWM was approached by STS9 to contribute mastering work towards a new remix compliation for the “Make It Right” foundation, a non-profit organization that is committed to building 150 sustainable homes in the New Orlean’s Lower 9th Ward, an area hard hit by Hurricane Katrina.

STS9 have assembled a double-CD length compilation of remixes of it’s successful “Peaceblaster” 2009 release. Remix artists on this compilation include Richard Devine, The Glitch Mob, Prefuse 73, and Deru to name a few of the 30 artists who have contributed to this effort.

Released in June 2009, all proceeds will be donated to the Make It Right foundation.

Mike Wells Mastering donated mastering duties to complete the compilation.
